Christ Kids Ranch utilizes an Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program designed to help improve the life course of hurting children and begin the process of healing. Through genuine connections and gentle guidance our "Stable Moments" program serves children, ages 6-18, who have experienced traumatic childhood events.
Traumatic life events are shocking, scary, or dangerous experiences that can affect a child emotionally and physically. These events are caused by many things such foster care placement, adoption, physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse, neglect, violence, divorce, illness, or the death of a loved one, natural disasters and accidents.
An Individualized Plan of Care (IPC) is developed for each child entering our healing programs. Our program Director carefully considers the child's strengths and challenges as she develops the child's IPC. Then the child is matched with a trained Mentor and a horse, both of which will be used consistently throughout the program.
Our programs run for 10 months and are on the same schedule as White County school system.
Program Cost: $200 per month
Please do not hesitate to inquire about scholarships for your children to assist with the cost. We ask for donors to sponsor children so we can offer scholarships! Our goal is to offer scholarships to cover ALL costs for ALL children who need our services.
